NXT is the place to be right now and, arguably, is the most exciting wrestling show in the world at this point in time.

The WWE's developmental territory is full of stars from the Indy scene who regularly put on incredible matches for the exuberant crowd at Full Sail University.

NXT kind of stays away from backstage segments and in-your-face character development that WWE fans regularly see on RAW, in favor of their stories playing out in the ring, through the wrestling. Well, we got a huge character change last night as one top star turned heel in dramatic fashion.

Balor vs Joe

The match ended in a DQ as Baron Corbin ran down the ramp and attacked both Crews and Balor.

This brought out Samoa Joe, who cleared Corbin out of the ring but then turned to face Balor and started whaling on the Champ.

This was described as feeling like a real heel turn with lots of boos for Joe from the crowd.

It will be interesting to see what happens between Crews and Balor now and if it means that the newbie's NXT Title shot has now just gone thanks to the intervention.

Some fans didn't react well to the news...
