Liverpool fans attack Joe Allen on Twitter for poor showing

Published Add your comment

Liverpool fans struggled to contain their disappointment at the 1-1 Europa League draw with Rubin Kazan last night, and one man in particular found the daggers pointed at him. It wasn’t Jurgen Klopp, thankfully, but midfielder Joe Allen. The Welshman has struggled since his switch from Swansea City, and on last night’s performance it doesn’t look like things are getting better under Klopp. Fans took to Twitter to slate Allen for his first-half showing against Rubin - you can guess what the general theme of the tweets were. Meanwhile, Mamadou Sakho took to Instagram to thank fans after the match, posting a series of pictures with the caption ‘thank you all for your support tonight’. The French defender was the man of the match at Anfield - it’s fair to say he’s in higher regard than the aforementioned Joe Allen.
