Newcastle United fans fume at Fabricio Coloccini's red card

Newcastle United defender Fabricio Coloccini has been sent off against Sunderland and Twitter has exploded as a result.

With the Magpies dominating proceedings at the Stadium of Light, Coloccini handed the Black Cats a huge chance to take the lead, and win their sixth straight derby, after barging Steven Fletcher in the penalty box.

Was it a penalty? Probably. Was it a red card? Probably not. Either way, Newcastle United fans are not happy with Robert Madley, the referee who immediately became the most famous man in the North East.

As it stands, the game is still going on and Steve McClaren's men have every chance of getting back into it, but that hasn't stopped some fans from St James' Park getting feisty on social media.

It seems that most people are backing Madley's call with pundits and fans instead turning their fury towards the Argentinian centre-back.
