Jose Mourinho faces the sack if Chelsea fail to beat Liverpool

Chelsea's season went from bad to worse on Saturday when the Blues imploded at the Boleyn Ground.

Nemanja Matic was dismissed for the west London club while Jose Mourinho and his assistant first-team coach Silvino Louro were sent to the stands as the champions lost 2-1 to West Ham United.

Just three weeks after Roman Abramovich gave the Portuguese boss a very public vote of confidence, it seems like time is beginning to run out for the Special One.

Three seasons after Jurgen Klopp's Borussia Dortmund knocked Mourinho's Real Madrid out of the Champions League, the German boss could be the one to deal another crushing blow to his counterpart.

The Blues sit 15th in the table after their fifth league defeat of the campaign - two more than they had in the whole of last season - 11 points behind league leaders Manchester City and Arsenal.

Having kept clean sheets against Aston Villa and Dynamo Kiev, it appeared Mourinho was beginning to find a solution to his defensive concerns. But their nightmare start to the season continued again Slaven Bilic's side.

Everything that could go wrong for Mourinho and his charges has done this campaign. The loss of Thibaut Courtois, in particular, has been a huge blow to their aspirations

The drop in form of John Terry, Branislav Ivanovic and Diego Costa has also been worrying, but expect the Blues to introduce new faces in January regardless of who is in charge.
