Chelsea round-up: Jose Mourinho's future hinges on Liverpool clash

Chelsea fans, happy Monday!

OK, we’ll admit, there’s not much to get excited about on a Monday morning. However, that doesn’t mean there’s nothing at all that can improve your mood.

If you’re a football-hungry hound - yes, we just said that - you’ll likely be looking for the next batch of breaking news. As luck would have it we’ve got it. Scroll down, or watch the video above, for more.

Mourinho living on borrowed time?

The idea of Jose Mourinho being sacked as Chelsea manager this season would have been laughable before the start of the campaign, but reports are now suggesting it might happen before the end of this month.

Hard as it is to take in, if the Blues lose to Liverpool at home on October 31 Mourinho could be given his marching orders, with Roman Abramovich deeply unhappy with how the team have fared so far this term.

A loss to West Ham this weekend was Chelsea’s fifth of the season - they now sit 15th in the Premier League. Hardly the form of champions.

United's Hazard interest

Across to transfer news and Eden Hazard has an unlikely admirer in Manchester United.

It may be mere speculation at this point, but it’s said United are keeping an eye on the Belgian’s situation in case he decides a move away from Stamford Bridge is an option.

If that’s not the motivation his teammates need to get their act together then we don’t know what is.

Drogba spectacular

We’ll finish off with something of a kick in the groin for those Blues fans who are still wondering quite what has happened this season.

Look over to the MLS and you’ll see Didier Drogba - who, of course, left Stamford Bridge this summer - well and truly firing on all cylinders.

If simply finding the back of the net wasn’t enough he’s even adding a touch of class. Check out the two back-heel goals he scored for Montreal Impact in two minutes this weekend here.
