Liverpool fans, happy Monday!

OK, we’ll admit, there’s not much to get excited about on a Monday morning. However, that doesn’t mean there’s nothing at all that can improve your mood.

If you’re a football-hungry hound - yes, we just said that - you’ll likely be looking for the next batch of breaking news. As luck would have it we’ve got it. Scroll down, or watch the video above, for more.

Sturridge could be sold - Lawrenson

Of all the decisions Jurgen Klopp makes in the January transfer window, deciding who to sell will be up there with the most important.

Joe Allen could go, perhaps Dejan Lovren, maybe he’ll even give into Barcelona’s lust for Philippe Coutinho. But Daniel Sturridge?

Unlikely as it sounds, former Reds player Mark Lawrenson has gone on record as saying he believes Klopp might begin to think about letting Sturridge go, as the England international can’t promise him enough games fully fit.

"For example, he may start looking at Daniel Sturridge and think 'How many games are you going to actually play for me this season?' Lawrenson said.

"He may then think 'what if I get him fit and he only plays half-a-dozen games?' and maybe 'what if I sell him?'

"These are all things he is probably going to think about over the coming weeks and months."

Sturridge has been struggling with injuries for quite some time of late, but selling him would mark a major surprise.

Carragher criticism

Elsewhere, Jamie Carragher has criticised Liverpool’s performances under Klopp so far, describing them as being like a ‘church choir’ as opposed to the ‘heavy-metal’ approach the German coach is known for.

The Reds have drawn three out of three games Klopp has been in charge of, so it’s difficult to disagree. It’s not ridiculous to put that down to teething issues, though.

Benteke on Saints draw

Meanwhile, Christian Benteke has had his say on the weekend’s encounter with Southampton and he believes Liverpool did enough to win the game.

The Belgian’s bullet header put Klopp’s men in front before they were later pegged back, and he posted a picture to Instagram with the caption ‘We deserved more today!’
