Valdes' agent quotes
Now that the end is in sight with regards to Victor Valdes’ Manchester United nightmare one would assume he wants to get as far away from English football as possible.
Well, you can assume that, but you’d be wrong to do so. According to the player’s agent, Gines Carvajal, Valdes is looking to leave Old Trafford at the next available opportunity but wants to stay in the Premier League as he believes the division can still offer him something.
Carvajal said Valdes was depending on United to let him depart, inferring a sticky situation is still possible.
"There are two months until the transfer window opens and there is nothing concrete," said Carvajal.
"We are depending on Manchester United to let Victor go."
Rooney testimonial planned
In other team news, Wayne Rooney has been granted a testimonial by the club following a campaign by supporters to honour his long service.
An opponent has yet to be named for when Rooney will lead a Manchester United XI on August 3, 2016, with details of the players and coaches who will be involved set to be revealed over the coming weeks.
Here's what fans think:
Rooney on Martial and Depay
Now to finish, Rooney has looked to celebrate the burgeoning young partnership of Memphis Depay and Anthony Martial, claiming that the duo could one day be as good as he and Cristiano Ronaldo were under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Martial appears to have settled in English football very well and though Depay still has work to do, Rooney believes that it’s only a matter of time before the pair become a partnership to be feared.
