Barcelona to offer Neymar £500,000-a-week contract to ward of Man United

Published 1 Comments

He may be the best footballer to have come out of Brazil since Pele, but is Neymar really worth £500,000-a-week? Well, according to The Sun, Barcelona are willing to raise his contract to as much in an attempt to ward of increasing interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils have been linked with the playmaker recently and Barca are apparently growing concerned that he is in a position to be pried away. We’ll still go on record as saying half a million a week is a bit much. In other news ex-Barca midfielder Xavi has said he believes United need to replace Wayne Rooney as the man charged with leading their frontline. The Spaniard said he thought Rooney still had an important part to play as part of the Old Trafford unit, but questioned whether he was the right man to be burdened with scoring the bulk of the goals.
