'Margarida', which translates to 'Daisy' in English, was known for his bizarre refereeing techniques, and his comical approach to managing the game made him a YouTube sensation.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Margarida, real name Jorge José Emiliano dos Santos's iconic backwards running and eccentric distribution of yellow cards make him stand out for arguably all the right reasons.

Margarida passed away in 1995 but was well respected in Brazil, and who couldn't with his unique style he brought to the game.
Can you imagine if he was a Premier League ref, having to come up against the likes of Jose Mourinho and Diego costa, week in, week out.

Here is a classic video montage of his best referring moments, what a legend.
