Chelsea are considering a January transfer bid for Shakhtar Donetsk's striking sensation Alex Teixeira as Jose Mourinho tries to revitalise his squad, according to the Mail.
The Brazilian playmaker has emerged as one of the hottest properties in Europe after bagging 16 goals in 11 games in the Ukraine's top flight this season.
With political instability rife within the country, Teixeira is keen to push for a move to the Blues and sparked a flurry of press by claiming he has already received an offer from Stamford Bridge.

"I have an offer," Teixeira told reporters in Ukraine. "It was a pleasure to know that Chelsea wants to sign me.
"It would be great if the transfer already happens in January."
Better than Lewandowski
His goal scoring record for Shakhtar eclipses even that of Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski, who himself has managed just 13 strikes in nine Bundesliga matches - what a flop!
But the Poland international is widely considered to be the world's best striker and would certainly cost Chelsea a world-record transfer fee to buy.
Teixeira, on the other hand, could be available for significantly less and seems to fall within the lines of Chelsea's transfer budget.
Looking for goals
None of Chelsea's three strikers have hit the ground running this season and the summer addition of Radamel Falcao appears to be a rather big mistake.
The Colombian has continued the dramatic decline he started at Manchester United last season and has been linked with an early exit from his season-long loan deal.
But Diego Costa and Loic Remy have hardly covered themselves in glory either. Between the three of them, they have managed just three Premier League goals this season.
Teixeira is not an out-and-out frontman but he has certainly proven to have the golden touch in front of goal this season.
