Arsenal star Jack Wilshere hasn’t had the best career when his injury woes are taken into account, but at least he’s got an admirer in arguably one of the greatest midfielders to have ever played the game. Barcelona icon Xavi has described Wilshere’s situation as a ‘shame’, also suggesting that he would make the difference for the Gunners if he can be kept full fit. High praise indeed coming from the Spanish pass master, but wanting to stay injury-free and then actually staying injury-free are two completely different things. Meanwhile, sticking with injury news, both Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are to be out until after the international break. The English duo both picked up knocks during the mid-week loss to Sheffield Wednesday, with Walcott straining his calf muscle and his teammate pulling up with another hamstring problem.
