Well, alright, not always, but nevertheless Roman Abramovich is sure to attempt to right Chelsea’s wrongs by buying in talent come January.
In fact, recent reports suggest the Blues are primed for a move for Shakhtar Donetsk star Alex Teixeira in the next transfer window, with the playmaker having confirmed Jose Mourinho is trying to sign him.
"I have an offer," Teixeira said.
"It was a pleasure to know that Chelsea wants to sign me.
"It would be great if the transfer already happens in January."
The Brazilian is Shakhtar's top goalscorer this year and Chelsea need all the help they can get in that department.
No Benteke deal
On the subject of strikers, it’s also been claimed that the Blues rejected Mourinho’s request that they sign Christian Benteke before the Belgian joined Liverpool.
It’s said the Special One spoke with Eden Hazard and was sold on bringing Benteke to Stamford Bridge.
The powers that be in west London weren’t half as keen when it came to the player’s £32.5m release clause.
Mourinho OK for Liverpool clash
