NXT is the place to be for any superstar looking to develop and make an impact on the main roster, and a handful of superstars have managed to do that.
On the other hand, not every superstar who moves up is guaranteed success and some even move back down to NXT or just fade away into insignificance. Finding the best and worst NXT stars has always been a debate, some have made an impact whilst others failed to make the grade.
CHANGE OF FORMAT
NXT has changed drastically since when it first hit our screens, it’s no longer the gimmick-centred competition where hopefuls competed to earn a WWE contract.

Nowadays it’s treated as its own brand due to the success they’ve found, thanks to some of the biggest names on the independent circuit.
Guys like Tyler Black, El Generico and Prince Devitt arrived and set the show alight, creating Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn and Finn Balor who continue to surprise fans.
With so many successful superstars on the show, there are bound to be stars who don’t quite live up to the same expectation.
Below are my choices on who I think are the worst NXT graduates and I’m looking at the redeveloped NXT not the competition version so don’t expect to see somebody like David Otunga or Heath Slates on the list.
Here are who I think have been the worst NXT main roster call-ups.
This was a big risk from the WWE as Adam Rose didn’t do much on NXT before moving up to the main roster. He actually had a lot of success on FCW and NXT when he was Leo Kruger and that’s the gimmick fans want him to return to.
Unfortunately, Rose has failed to make any sort of impact on the main roster with his party animal gimmick and you know when you’re in trouble when a man in a bunny costume makes the headlines more than you do.
It looks as if he’s heading for another character change, but you won’t find any fans saying they miss Adam Rose any time soon.
It’s a shame that Bo couldn’t really get over with his gimmick, as it did have a lot of potential at one stage, but his act did grow stale pretty quick.
Fans wanted him to join The Wyatt Family which doesn’t really make sense, but it’s clear a gimmick tweak or a complete change is needed as he does have the potential to succeed considering he’s still young.
He wasn’t involved in any real feud and was often the butt of a joke a number of times, but other than that Bo was wasted on the main roster, considering he was NXT Champion at one stage.
The Ascension will go down as one of the bigger failures on the main roster, but definitely one that fans didn’t really expect as WWE Tag Team Championship runs were seen almost as a guarantee when they moved up.
Unfortunately, they failed to connect with the fans on any level and they’ll be wishing they could go back in time to enjoy their glory days on NXT when they dominated the tag team division.
It seems as if the comment they made on television of them being better than the Legion of Doom backfired, as they were never the same from that point and it’s not good to see them going from monsters to a team anybody can defeat.
They’ve recently aligned themselves with Stardust and it looks as if they could receive some sort of push along with Stardust in the near future.
