Martin Odegaard produced several eye-catching moments of quality during Real Madrid Castilla’s 2-0 defeat to Getafe B on Sunday.
The Norway international, who is yet to establish himself in the first team at the Bernabeu, showcased his skills for Zinedine Zidane’s side - and you can watch the 16-year-old’s individual highlights by scrolling down this page to the embedded YouTube video.
Despite his moments of class, though, it seems Zidane was less-than-impressed with the attacking midfielder’s overall contribution. The Real Madrid legend subbed off the teenager for Cristian Cedres on the hour-mark as Castilla slumped to a surprise 2-0 defeat.

Still, Odegaard clearly possesses huge potential and Real Madrid would be crazy to give up on him at this premature stage in his career.
A loan move away from the Bernabeu would have been the ideal solution in the summer - as a senior international footballer, he’s too advanced to be playing for Real Madrid’s junior side - and arranging a temporary move for the youngster should be one of Rafael Benitez’s primary concerns when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Loan move to Getafe would be ideal
Madrid-based Getafe were reportedly interested in signing Odegaard on loan and that would surely be a good move for the teenager, who wouldn’t need to uproot and settle in another city.
Real Madrid must be aware of the progress Barcelona’s gifted Croatia international Alen Halilović - a player similar in style and stature to Odegaard - has made this season since joining Sporting Gijón on a season-long loan deal.
The 19-year-old has been outstanding for his loan club, particularly in recent weeks, and there’s no reason why Odegaard couldn’t make a similar impact at Getafe - despite the fact he’s three years younger than Halilović.
