Kevin Owens has had a successful transition from NXT to the main roster where he’s currently holding the Intercontinental Championship, a title he picked up by defeating Ryback.
Owens burst onto the main roster in brilliant fashion when he attacked then-United States Champion John Cena which marked one of the most successful debuts in recent years.
It didn’t stop there for him, he even went on to defeat Cena clean in the middle of the ring at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view but after losing to Cena on multiple occasions after that, it’s clear the WWE failed to really capitalise on his momentum.

There’s no denying the fact that Owens can still go all the way because of his unique character and impressive in-ring ability, but after an underwhelming feud with Ryback it’s clear Owens needs a solid feud to over as a brilliant champion. Here are the feuds I think could help Owens achieve that...
This one is more ‘fantasy booking’ than anything but if Daniel Bryan is going to make an in-ring return to the WWE then it would be fitting for him to go for the championship he was forced to relinquish.
Not only that, but we know how much the WWE Universe adores Bryan and if you put such a strong face in a feud you need a top heel to help both men go over and Owens would be the perfect superstar for that.
Their in-ring styles would be perfect as well as they’re able to excite the fans with either technical wrestling or brute strength from Owens. If there’s anyone who can help make Owens look like the number one heel in the company and a solid Intercontinental Champion, it’s Bryan.
Dean Ambrose would be a similar opponent to Bryan in the sense that it would be the case of the ultimate face who the fans love, going up against the heel that everybody hates and that is key to a successful feud.
The good thing is Ambrose is healthy enough to compete, but the bad thing is fans believe Ambrose deserves more and they’d be right. He’s more than capable enough of holding the ultimate prize in the WWE, but his position means he would be valuable in any Intercontinental Championship feud.
He’s a big name and could do what Cena did with the United States Championship. He and Owens are two guys who aren’t afraid to put their body on the line and the chemistry the two would have in a feud would be unbelievable.
This one probably won’t happen now considering Reigns is going for Seth Rollins and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but some fans still aren’t sold on the idea Reigns could be the champion.
I feel that after WrestleMania 31 the WWE should have allowed Reigns to contend for either the United States or Intercontinental Championship and put him in feuds where he would have had the opportunity to win the fans over.
The fact he was fast-tracked there is what annoys most fans and a feud with Owens is something which could go down as a success for both men. For Reigns, he would win back his fans by taking on a heel who would do anything to stop Reigns from reaching the top.
It would be beneficial for Owens because whether fans like it or not, Reigns is a huge name and to have a feud and even potential victories over Reigns would do him wonders.
Another feud with Sami Zayn is most definitely on the cards and it’s one that fans are waiting for because there’s so much emotion involved when they mix it up.
The good thing is they have a history which means they have chemistry like no other current feuds on the main roster and it’s good that the WWE have acknowledged this. The store they’re going with is that Owens injured Sami and that’s why he’s out injured and that’s a great set-up for a return feud.
Again, Zayn is in a similar boat to Ambrose and Bryan as the fans simply adore him which means there’s an automatic hatred towards Owens and that’s where he impresses the most.
Zayn returning at the Royal Rumble to take out Owens would be a fantastic way to have a final battle at WrestleMania which would really cement them both on the main roster, but I would really cement Owens as a solid Intercontinental Champion.
