Liverpool signing Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus is a good idea, according to Reds chief executive Ian Ayre.
As reported by the Liverpool Echo, Ayre, responding to a question about why the Germany international hadn't been purchased, stated: “It seems like a good idea."
Unsurprisingly, since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp on Merseyside, Reus' name as a potential transfer target, as you can see below, has cropped up time-and-time again on social media.

And Ayre doesn't think there's anything wrong with the Liverpool faithful making their feelings known on the platform.
He continued by saying: “(But) If we did everything that was said on social media, we wouldn’t get any work done.
“It’s about using it as a barometer, it’s a good tool to get a sense of what the feeling is out there.
“You’ve got very different and diverse people out there, the people who come to the games are slightly different to the millions of people who watch on TV.”
Fans want Reus
One thing is for sure, it's not surprising that Reus is the huge name that the Kop want to see arrive at Anfield.
Ultimately, the 26-year-old is one of the classiest playmakers in the game and would no doubt prove a wonderful signing for the club in their pursuit of long-term success. But it's not going to be easy for the revered Klopp to get his hands on his former star again.
It's seemingly unlikely that Dortmund will want to sell their talisman and surely Reus would have his pick of clubs in the Champions League if he opted to leave Germany behind.
Of course, the Klopp-factor makes Liverpool a far more attractive proposition, but he may well have to secure a place in the top four to attract the world-class Reus.
