Manchester United supporters have criticised Louis van Gaal on Twitter after Javier Hernandez scored his seventh goal in five matches for Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday night.
The Mexico international was deemed surplus to requirements by Van Gaal at the end of the summer transfer window, despite the earlier departures of Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao, and was subsequently sold to Leverkusen for £7.3 million.
Many United fans were surprised and saddened by the decision at the time - Chicharito was a fan favourite thanks to the goals he scored under Sir Alex Ferguson - but their emotions began to turn to anger on Twitter last night after they watched the 27-year-old bang in another goal against AS Roma in the Champions League group stages.

Leverkusen’s impressive coach Roger Schmidt offered the Mexican a chance to resurrect his career with an ambitious club - and the striker has taken the opportunity with both hands.

United could have done with Chicharito this season
Over the past couple of weeks, Hernandez has netted three goals over two matches against AS Roma, a brace against Viktoria Köln in the German Cup, plus goals against Stuttgart and Wolfsburg.
United’s current batch of strikers, meanwhile, have been struggling to hit the back of the net in recent weeks.
The Red Devils went three games without a goal prior to Tuesday night’s 1-0 win over CKSA Moscow in the Champions League and have scored just 15 times in the Premier League this term - the same number of goals scored by Norwich City.
