Manziel to start for Browns
Johnny Football will have the chance to silence critics of his ability when the Cleveland Browns face off against the unbeaten Cincinnati Bengals tonight - you can trust us when we say there are many.
Twitter, somewhat unsurprisingly, exploded upon hearing the news that Manziel is to start for the Browns during tonight’s game, with a number of fans posting fairly comical tweets intended to play down the quarterback’s chances of success.
Manziel may be only covering for the injured Josh McCown, but he’ll have to put in the performance of a lifetime if he’s to get the fans on board.
Bradford on Eagles rumours
In other NFL news, Sam Bradford has responded to rumours concerning a supposed contract offer from the Philadelphia Eagles that he received this summer, by way of refusing it ever existed.
Eagles’ writer Eliot Shorr-Parks tweeted to say that he’d quizzed Bradford on the topic and the QB had said the offer must have gotten lost in the mail, as he never saw it.
Green admitted to hospital
Meanwhile, a strange situation is developing concerning the NBA, with Miami Heat guard Gerald Green having been admitted to hospital after an ambulance and the police were called to a home yesterday morning.
Details of Green’s problem haven’t been disclosed, but a source said that he’d been restrained before being placed on a stretcher outside of his luxury condo.
James on Bryant struggle
Lastly, LeBron James has weighed in on the current struggles being endured by fellow NBA superstar Kobe Bryant - he thinks it’s simply a matter of it being a mental battle.
James laughed off the idea of his counterpart actually ‘sucking’ - Bryant suggested as much recently - and said it was a personal challenge he needed to hurdle, nothing more.
