Ronaldo praises Depay
Memphis Depay is a good player - that much can’t be disputed.
Just how good, we’ll have to wait and see, but one man whose opinion should certainly be counted has revealed his belief that Depay is destined for greatness.
Say the words 'Cristiano Ronaldo' around Old Trafford and fans cast their minds back to memories they’re fond of.
Depay might not be close to his level yet, but Ronaldo named the Dutch youngster amongst a crop of five starlets to look out for.
The others in the mix were Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard, Barcelona star Neymar, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Paul Pogba.
"You see many players with potential, I will mention Odegaard of Madrid for example, at 16 he's still young but you can see he's a very good player," he said.
"Hazard for example, the No7 of Manchester Depay is a good player too, Pogba and maybe Neymar."
Ronaldo on United
Staying with Ronaldo - yes, that appears to be the trending topic today - the forward has said he’s struggling to watch United as they’re ‘different’.
He didn’t slate Louis van Gaal like certain other former Red Devils had but said the structure had changed since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement. Somewhat diplomatically, he refused to clarify whether or not it was for the better.
Pereira wants more chances
Lastly, young midfielder Andreas Pereira has admitted to United's official website he’s hoping for more chances in Van Gaal’s first-team, having impressed so far this term.
The Brazilian is touted as being one to keep an eye on for the future. With Van Gaal in charge - and his mantra of giving youth a chance - he couldn’t really be in better hands.
Fans certainly seem to like Pereira, in any case:
