It has emerged today that Seth Rollins was set to drop the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns heading into this year's TLC event.
The plans suggest that the feud between current champion Rollins and Reigns was set to run until the end of the year and lead to Reigns being Champion during WrestleMania season.
PLANS ARE THERE TO BE CHANGED
Due to his recent injury, Rollins is now set to vacate his championship and instead there will be a tournament to crown a new winner in just over two weeks time, the problem is, do WWE have someone who can fill the void left by Seth Rollins?

The only superstar currently in WWE who can generate heat like Rollins is Kevin Owens and since he already has the Intercontinental Championship, it's unlikely that WWE would allow him to have the World title as well.
That being said, Dean Ambrose looks like he is on the hunt for the IC title and this feud could well be stepped up to main event level. This means that even if Reigns fails as Champion, WWE have cover like they did with John Cena when Rollins first won the title back at WrestleMania.

It is very likely now that Reigns will be leaving Survivor Series with the championship, but there is also the small problem of Sheamus, where does he now fit into WWE's plans?
CASH IN AT SURVIVOR SERIES?
WWE's creative team has been working around the clock to re-plan the rest of the WWE calendar without Rollins. They will also be without Randy Orton and John Cena until at least December, which leaves The Company with a massive headache.
Sheamus has been World Champion before, he could make the step up once again, but are WWE ready to place that on the Irishman's shoulders?
Reigns and Sheamus could have a solid rivalry, it wouldn't be a show stopping rivalry but it would sell tickets and keep attention on the World title picture until some of the injured superstars make their returns, but it seems fans want to see a rivalry of another kind.
Ambrose and Reigns have been friends since their debut together three years ago next week, could this be an anniversary to forget? Could Dean finally turn on Roman? Could the World Title finally come between them?
Either way, WWE is in need of a new saviour, it's time for an underused superstar to step up and prove that they deserve the limelight, it will be interesting to see who that will be.
