Jos Buttler appears set to keep wicket for England against Pakistan in the first one-day international, after recovering sufficiently from a finger injury.

Buttler hurt the ring finger on his right hand and gave up his wicketkeeping duties earlier than planned to his limited-overs deputy Jonny Bairstow in England's warm-up victory over Hong Kong on Sunday.

But on the eve of Wednesday's first match of four, at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, he was able to take part in drills with specialist coach Bruce French - and England's medical staff are thought to be confident he will be fit to start the series.
