Manchester United defender Antonio Valencia has tweeted a picture of himself in hospital after undergoing a successful operation.
The Ecuadorian international, who has been in and out of the United side throughout the course of the season so far, last featured for the club in the Manchester derby back in October, but had to be replaced late on after picking up a foot injury.
And now it appears that he could be out of action for a sustained period of time.

Valencia has taken to social media this evening, stating: "Thank God came out well from the operation. Now think about my recovery."
It remains to be seen as to how long he will be on the sidelines for, but it leaves Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal with something to think about. As well as Valencia, the duo of Matteo Darmian and Ashley Young have both featured at right-back recently, so it appears that the position is there for the taking at Old Trafford.
Darmian, who completed a move to the club in the summer transfer window, enjoyed a wonderful opening couple of months on English soil, but he has gone off the ball of late. Young, on the other hand, may not be predominantly a right-back, but Van Gaal certainly appears to have a great deal of faith in him.
Despite the club's troubles in the right-back position, United have the best defensive record in the division and haven't conceded a goal in 574 minutes of football, so they must be doing something right.
