Despite the fact United helped the Portuguese star complete his transformation from a talented but raw teenager into one of the world’s best footballers, there’s just 19 seconds - yes, 19 seconds - of footage in the new film showing Ronaldo during his six years with Manchester United.
This is according to the Wall Street Journal - and brought to our attention by 101 Great Goals - who claim Ronaldo spends more time in the film with his shirt off and even singing along to Rihanna than playing for the Red Devils.

There’s seven minutes and 32 seconds of footage showing Ronaldo playing for his current club, Real Madrid - the team he was desperate to leave Manchester United for in 2009 - three minutes and six seconds of footage of Ronaldo playing for Portugal, and one minute and 13 seconds of the Portuguese in the shirt of his first club Sporting Lisbon.
Surely Manchester United deserved more of a mention?
United fan: Film is 'arrogant and self-centred'
One United fan watched the film earlier this week and he was confused with the lack of mentions for the club that effectively made him the player he is today.
“It’s arrogant, it’s self-centred, it’s pretty much what you’d imagine a Cristiano Ronaldo film to be,” Gaz from FullTimeDevils commented.
“If you’re a Man United fan, there’s no Man United in it, there’s barely even a mention of when we won the European Cup, when he won his first Ballon d’Or at Manchester United. When his father sadly passed away and Alex Ferguson was there for him. None of that was in the movie.”
Ronaldo more likely to join PSG over United?
So, what could this mean for the future?
Well, United fans could be forgiven for presuming that Ronaldo has little interest in returning to Old Trafford.
The rumours refuse to go away but once Ronaldo leaves Real Madrid - and this could be some way off yet - perhaps Paris Saint-Germain will be a more likely next destination.
