Former WWE superstar Hulk Hogan has said in a recent interview that John Cena would make a great heel in the WWE.
Speaking on Radio Yorkshire, according to Wrestling Inc, the Hulkster was promoting his upcoming show at the Sheffield Arena this weekend. He spoke about his own heel turn at WCW Bash at the Beach in 1996, and the possibility of Cena turning heel.
On the latter topic, Hogan said that despite how Cena's character is built, no one should rule out the possibility of him turning from face to heel.

He said: "Yeah, I mean, God, I hate to keep saying it, 'never say never', but with Vince McMahon's machine and the WWE and the writers and John [Cena]'s talent, his talent alone, if he were to turn heel and [WWE] let him go, let John go and pull that edge out of John, ooh boy, he'd be a good heel!"
This topic of Cena turning heel has been discussed over a thousand times, and while in theory it sounds awesome with so many storylines and avenues to explore, the WWE simply won't do it now it is established in the PG era.
Cena is the face of the company for all of its advertisement and investment needs. He is also adored by the younger generation who consistently buy his t-shirts and merchandise and pour millions of dollars into the WWE.
Turning him heel will lose a lot of that support from the younger generation for Cena, and therefore, a lot of fans will no longer buy his merchandise. It would turn off a lot of investors into the company because one of the major sources of money has diminished. In other words, it would be close to suicide for WWE to turn Cena heel.
It worked for Hogan because during the time, wrestling wasn't as popular as it is today, meaning more daring stunts could be pulled by the companies without major financial implications.
Although a lot of people are wishing for it to happen before Cena finally calls it a day, it simply isn't going to.
