Kane's character has been crying out for a huge creative change, ever since he was made Director of Operations and became corporate back in 2014 by aligning himself with Triple H & Stephanie 'the authority.'
A move that saw him, along with Big Show, act as personal lackeys to carry out the bidding of Hunter and Steph, which didn't go down too well with the WWE Universe.
His recent change, one that saw him return to the old demonic, destruction causing, mask wearing character also did little to give any excitement to the fans - even his short-lived rivalry with now vacated-champion Seth Rollins couldn't lift the expectations of viewers.

The idea of sticking Kane in a main event means that we have to have some vested interest in the character and believe that there is even an outside chance he is going to win, which was never going to be the case with how Seth Rollins had been booked.
As part of the 25 years of The Undertaker celebrations, Kane will team up with his brother at Survivor Series to face off against The Wyatts. This, for the first time in a long time, means fans will have a reason to get behind "The Demon" at main event level.

This gives the creative team a chance to repackage Kane going forward. The sheer fact that the big red machine is teaming with Undertaker is enough for the fans to be cheering them on in Atlanta on November 22.
The next night on Raw, in all likelihood, we will see Kane solo again and his reception will no doubt highly depend on his booking at Survivor Series.
Continue the plan
We cannot see Kane come out the next night and just go back to being the guy who jobs to everybody whilst maintaining a demonic persona, the two do not go together and Kane hasn't seemed threatening since his return in 2011 which was very short-lived.
The last time we saw the demon show any kind of character was his run with Daniel Bryan as part of tag team "Hell No".
We don't know how much longer Kane's in-ring career is going to last, with the right creative push Kane could be well utilised for a while longer and be significant to a thriving US title, Intercontinental or Tag Team division.
