Manchester United could make an audacious move for Arjen Robben in January after it emerged that the Netherlands international is unhappy at Bayern Munich.
According to the Mirror, Robben has fallen out with the club’s star striker Robert Lewandowski, who believes the Dutch winger is too selfish.
Lewandowski has reportedly made it clear that he prefers to play alongside Douglas Costa and Kingsley Coman - and Robben has reacted badly to the Poland international’s comments.

It’s no secret that Robben admires Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal, who worked with the winger while coaching the Oranje between 2012-2014, and the veteran Dutch coach is currently on the lookout for proven quality to bolster his squad.
Robben, despite the fact he turns 32 in January, is still capable of producing top performances as he proved during the Netherlands’ 3-2 win over Wales on Friday night.
Young wingers could suffer if Robben signs
However, Robben’s potential arrival could harm the development of United’s current batch of young wingers, including Memphis Depay, Jesse Lingard and Adnan Januzaj.
Memphis has struggled at Old Trafford following his £31 million summer move from PSV Eindhoven while Lingard has taken his recent opportunities to shine with both hands.
Januzaj, meanwhile, is struggling for minutes at Borussia Dortmund this season after a difficult debut campaign under Van Gaal.
Robben will soon begin to decline
Because Robben is a player who, to an extent, relies on his explosive pace, it’s possible that the former Chelsea and Real Madrid star only has another couple of years before he begins to decline.
But if Van Gaal believes Robben could help Manchester United win some silverware during that time, perhaps it’s a deal that makes sense for the Red Devils.
