Manchester United fans have woken up to the news that Louis van Gaal is plotting a shock £15 million move for Leicester City’s in-form striker Jamie Vardy - and they’ve made their feelings clear about the potential transfer on Twitter.
The Daily Star have exclusively revealed that United are eyeing a move for Vardy, who has scored in each of his previous nine Premier League appearances, and claim Old Trafford scouts ran the rule over the England international in his last two matches against West Brom and Watford.
United have struggled to score goals this season - Man City, Arsenal, Tottenham, Southampton, West Ham, Everton and Leicester have all netted more in the Premier League so far this term - but it’s debatable that Vardy, who turns 29 in the New Year, is the solution to their problems in front of goal.

Man United fans react to news on Twitter
Some United fans would welcome Vardy to Old Trafford while others are less-than-impressed by the idea of the late-bloomer lining up alongside Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney next season.

This deal doesn't really make any sense
While Vardy is clearly enjoying the best spell of his professional career, it’s hard to imagine that he’d be a shrewd signing for Manchester United.
Furthermore, Vardy would almost certainly spend the majority of his time at Old Trafford on the subs’ bench.
Stranger things have happened in football, but don’t expect this deal to happen in January.
