Peyton Manning sets new NFL record - then gets benched

Published 1 Comments

Peyton Manning may have set a new NFL career passing yards record on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs, but it wasn’t enough to stop him getting benched. In a fairly surprising turn of events, Manning overtook Brett Favre to become the league’s all-time passing yardage leader, but was removed from duty in favour of Brock Osweiler. Osweiler then led two fourth-quarter touchdowns, ensuring things could get very interesting from here on in. In the NBA, the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Detroit Pistons to avoid breaking a record of their own - the worst start to a season they’ve ever had. Kobe Bryant led the Lakers to a 97-85 victory over the Pistons to help record only the second win Los Angeles have had this year. Not inspiring stuff, but it’s better than another loss.
