Manchester United have confirmed that talented young midfielder DJ Buffonge - real name Darren Raekwon McIntosh-Buffonge - has signed as a scholar for the Red Devils following a successful trial.
The former Fulham Under-18 starlet was linked with a move to United back in August - by Goal - but the Premier League giants did not get around to offering the creative midfielder a deal until this month because of an injury.
However, United have confirmed that the ex-Arsenal Academy midfielder has now put pen-to-paper on a deal with the Red Devils after impressing Old Trafford coaches.

“The former Fulham prospect started the season in the Under-18 team and set up Zak Dearnley's goal in the opening fixture at West Brom. However, a groin injury sustained in a 3-2 win over Derby County in late August cut short his progress,” United confirmed on their official website.
“Despite the setback, United's coaches had seen enough to complete a deal on 13 November for a creative midfielder who is very comfortable in possession of the ball.”

Buffonge joined Fulham’s academy from Arsenal in 2010 and broke into the Cottagers’ Under-18 side towards the end of the 2013-14 campaign.
He turned 17 earlier this month, but it might be some time before Manchester United fans catch a glimpse of the youngster in action for Louis van Gaal’s first team.
Van Gaal gives young players opportunities
Competition for first-team places is fierce at Old Trafford but Van Gaal boasts an impressive track record of handing opportunities to the club’s most talented youngsters since his arrival in the summer of 2014.
The likes of Adnan Januzaj, James Wilson, Paddy McNair, Tyler Blackett, Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard have all been exposed to first-team football over the past year-and-a-half.
Therefore, if Buffonge is as talented as United coaches think he is, perhaps it won’t be too long before he’s lining up alongside Wayne Rooney and co. at the Theatre of Dreams.
