After forcing his way into the end zone late on against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, Carolina Panther quarterback Cam Newton probably didn't expect his 'Dab' celebration to caouse such controversy.
Then again, considering he is Cam Newton - the man perennially criticized for anything he does - he maybe should have seen the ridiculous backlash coming.
At the forefront of the criticism has been a letter, sent to the Charlotte Observer by a Carolina mother, claiming Newton's "arrogant strusts" and "pelvic thrusts" had nearly ruined her day out with her young daughter. The 9-0 quarterback has now responded to those claims directly.

"Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, everyone is," explained Newton to reporters. "You can't fault her for that...
"If she feels offended I apologise to her, but, at the end of the day, I am who I am."
Frankly, there is very little Newton should be apologizing for. Take a look at the video of his celebration below and judge for yourself how much offense the former Auburn star was really causing.
What's more, there were no less than three other players who performed the same move over the weekend (and plenty more from the NFL and NBA in the past few weeks) that have done so without any public condemnation.
Unfortunately for Newton, he seems to always be under the microscope for his actions like few others in the NFL. He might be in the midst of his best season as a pro, but he is clearly struggling to shake off the unfair reputation that has followed him for years.
