Mikel Arteta names Arsenal’s three most creative players

Published 1 Comments

Mikel Arteta has named the three most creative players in the Arsenal squad - and fans won’t be too surprised to discover the Spanish midfielder selected Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla.

The 33-year-old believes the aforementioned trio are all capable of producing moments of magic during matches, even when the chips are down.

Alexis has been a revelation at the Emirates Stadium since his move from Barcelona last summer while Ozil is finally beginning to justify the £42.5 million fee that Arsenal paid Real Madrid for his services in 2013. Cazorla, on the other hand, has been consistently superb since arriving from Malaga three years ago.

"Even if we're not playing well, you know that they can always provide a spark and win a game for us.

"We need to find the right balance in the team to give these players freedom on the pitch to affect the result."

Arsenal can win the league with Alexis and Ozil

Arsenal could move to the top of the Premier League table this weekend if they defeat West Brom at the Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon and Manchester City either draw or lose against Liverpool later in the day.

And with the likes of Alexis and Ozil at their disposal, there’s no reason why the Gunners shouldn’t have their sights set on ending their long wait for the Premier League trophy.

It’ll be 12 years in May since the likes of Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Robert Pires last helped Arsenal win the league title - and while Arsene Wenger’s current squad might not be quite as talented as the Invincibles, they’re not a million miles off in terms of quality.

Alexis is undoubtedly a world-class forward and he’ll have a huge role to play if Arsenal are to pip the likes of City and Manchester United to the title this season.

And if Ozil can continue his excellent early-season form - the German playmaker has 10 assists already this campaign - then the title race is sure to go right to the wire.
