LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL

Chelsea's start to the season has been nothing short of disastrous. The Blues languish three points above the relegation zone and many managers have been sacked for less during the Roman Abramovich era.

However, technical director Michael Emenalo believes the owner is fully behind Jose Mourinho and retains trust in the Portuguese boss as he can see light at the end of the tunnel.

As per the Telegraph, the Nigerian, who has been in his current role at Chelsea since 2011, said: "Right now, the statement from the owner and from the board comes from a belief we are in a position to trust a manager who has delivered so much."

COURTOIS RETURN

In other news, Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has stepped up his recovery from knee surgery as he took to the training field on Thursday. The Belgian has not played since the 2-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace but should return for the busy festive period.

The club posted a video on their official Twitter account and, judging by the reaction, it's fair to say fans are excited.

£30M FOR TEIXEIRA

And finally, the west London club have been told, as per the London Evening Standard, they must fork out at least £30 million if they want to land Shakhtar Donetsk's Alex Teixeira in January.

The Brazilian has scored 21 goals in 22 matches this season and with Shakhtar unlikely to reach the knockout stages of the Champions League, they could be tempted to sell their prized asset.
