Chelsea fans pleased with narrow victory over Norwich City

Chelsea fans were given a rare chance to smile today as their side returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 triumph at home to Norwich.

Diego Costa’s first goal in seven provided a first win in four Premier League games as Jose Mourinho returned from a one-match stadium ban.

While the performance may not have been befitting of their champion status, the three points on the board are vital for a side that has lost more than half of their league fixtures so far this season.

Willian continued the good form that he has shown all season and Eden Hazard put in a much-improved performance that showed glimpses of the world-class talent that he possesses.

The home fans had to remain patient and wait more than an hour for the only goal of the game to arrive.

Costa combined with Cesc Fabregas to convert his quickly taken free-kick on 64 minutes to provide the eventual winner.

Kurt Zouma had the opportunity to put Mourinho at ease, but his flick-on struck the bar and ensured that Norwich remained in the match.

The Blues are still languishing in the bottom half, but that was a desperately needed win ahead of next weekend’s trip to White Hart Lane.

As usual, the internet reacted in tremendous form to the news of Diego Costa’s goal and Chelsea’s subsequent victory, in contrast to rivals Arsenal losing at West Brom:
