Chelsea are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as they attempt to turn their season around.
The forward has scored an incredible 23 goals in 21 appearances this term and, according to The Sun, Jose Mourinho is keen to capture the Gabonese star in January.
Mourinho's men have had a wretched start to their Premier League campaign and the Portuguese manager will be wanting to add more attacking options to his squad.
Diego Costa has only managed three league goals in his 12 appearances this campaign while Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao have rarely impressed when given the opportunity.
Whilst Aubameyang will be unavailable for a large part of January due to the African Nations, he will be able to play in the Champions League - something that would appeal immensely to Mourinho.
The Chelsea manager will be hoping he is given the funds to sign some players in January as the club aims to work their way up the table. The Stamford Bridge club currently sit in 15th position but will still be aiming to qualify for the Champions League next season by finishing in the top four.
Aubameyang is considered one of the fastest players in the modern game and recorded the joint fastest sprint on a football pitch, tied with former Chelsea winger Arjen Robben.
