AC Milan have confirmed that loan-striker Mario Balotelli will be out of action for up to a month after undergoing surgery on a groin injury.
The Italian international is enduring a second-spell at the San Siro after agreeing to move there on a season-long loan from Premier League outfit Liverpool.
Striker Back at San Siro
Balotelli had only left Milan for one-season, after agreeing to join the Reds in a £16 million deal, but after flopping at Anfield, he secured a quick move back to Serie A.

The 25-year-old, however has not featured for Milan since late September, when he first had problems with his groin, but the club have now confirmed that he's had surgery and will be sidelined for around a month.
Since completing his loan-move back to the San Siro, Balotelli has only made four league appearances and has only scored one goal, but he seems a lot happier off the pitch back in his homeland.
Balotelli Provides Update
Speaking after his surgery, Balotelli posted a picture of himself on his official Instagram account, and captioned it with a brief message for fans of AC Milan.
As well as the striker confirming the news after his surgery, AC Milan released an official statement on their website revealing the extent of the medical procedure.
The Serie A club stated: "The operation was technically successful and the recovery time is around four weeks, assuming there are no complications."
AC Milan's Standings
Sinisa Mihajlovic will have to cope without the Italian until mid-December now as they look to close in on the top spots in Serie A.
Milan are currently sixth in the table after 12 games, winning half of their matches. They are currently seven points off top-spot, which is being occupied by Fiorentina.
