There is no doubting the fact that Seth Rollins injury has hit WWE hard. The Company were dependent on the former Shield member heading into WrestleMania 32 and with his recent injury, all storylines have had to be rewritten.
There were question marks over whether or not WWE were relying too heavily on the former NXT Champion, but Bret Hart has stated in a recent interview that he thinks Rollins was irresponsible to not only injure himself but others in the ring with him.
WAS THE INJURY ROLLINS FAULT?
The WWE Hall of Famer said to Sports Illustrated: “That knee in the face that he gave to John Cena was unprofessional, at best, It’s really strange that a guy like Rollins, who I have a lot of respect for, would be that reckless with that knee in the face. If someone kneed me in the face like that, I would have met him in the back dressing room with a baseball bat.

"There’s just no excuse for it. You can’t hurt somebody like that under any circumstances. It’s totally reckless. It can’t happen. The other thing is, when you’re the champion, you have a responsibility to not get hurt. You have to be spot on.”
Whilst Bret is right about the fact that every superstar has a responsibility to the person they are in the ring with to ensure they are not injured, Rollins injury was one that no one can actually take the blame for.
It was a sunset flip that Rollins has attempted hundreds of times and on this occasion his leg twisted and when all of his weight landed on it, it sadly damaged it to a severe extent.
WILL THIS CHANGE IN THE FUTURE?
Rollins may not return to WWE until after WrestleMania 32 and much like when Dolph Ziggler was injured and forced to drop his World Championship, WWE may be hesitant to put a big title on him again.
That being said, there is nothing wrong with the way Rollins performs in the ring, accidents are always going to happen in wrestling and legends are always going to have opinions on what has happened.
The injury to Cena was an accident and he managed to recover and finish the match, the injury to Sting was also unavoidable and Sting himself didn't blame Rollins for it.
Of the hundred odd matches Rollins has had in WWE, he has only injured two people and both were genuine accidents. Sometimes there is no way to avoid these kinds of incidents and there is nothing WWE or Rollins can change to prevent it in the future.
