Aubameyang tops the Bundesliga scoring charts with 15 goals this season.

Chelsea eyeing £20 million bid for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Chelsea are eyeing a potential move for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to The Sun.

The Gabon forward will reportedly be the subject of a £20 million bid from the struggling Stamford Bridge side, who have shown little in the way of defending their Premier League crown this season and currently sit 15th.

Jose Mourinho, who's still in the hot seat following a 1-0 victory over Norwich last weekend, had previously stated he would not seek any more signings in January but acknowledges the team's lack of attacking threat this season.

The Blues' trio of strikers - Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao - have all struggled in front of goal, having scored a combined total of four league goals this season.

Aubameyang, on the other hand, has been incredible. He leads the Bundesliga with 15 goals, with Robert Lewandowski (14) and Thomas Muller (12) closely behind. He's been the focal point of attack for Dortmund, who currently sit second, eight points behind Bayern Munich.

The 26-year-old - who has been compared to Didier Drogba - will leave for the African Nations Cup in January but will still be able to play in the Champions League providing a move to west London transpires.

Aubameyang is not the only striker being targeted by Chelsea, amidst rumours that Mourinho is in fact after two forwards.

The Express reported earlier this month that the Blues are interested in luring Mexican striker Javier Hernandez from Bayer Leverkusen.

Since his summer move, 'Chicharito' has been in excellent goalscoring form and showcasing the credentials that earned him the reputation of having a natural eye for goal.

Six league goals represents a respectable return for the 27-year-old, though doubt remains whether he could be tempted to leave the Bundesliga so soon after ending his Manchester United nightmare.
