Arsenal round-up: Wojciech Szczesny hails beautiful Barcelona after 6-1 rout

Published 1 Comments

Arsenal fans, hello and welcome.

With European action very much on the agenda this week there’s plenty for us to get through, so we won’t waste time with long and drawn out introductions.

You should all know the score by now. Watch the video above for the latest headlines or read on below if added fluff is what tickles your fancy. Enjoy.

Szczesny's strange praise

Most fans would imagine Wojciech Szczesny would be keen to forget last night after conceding six - yes six - goals against Barcelona.

The man himself, though, well he doesn’t seem to mind. The Polish stopper, on loan with AS Roma from Arsenal, said it was beautiful to watch Lionel Messi and co. run riot at the Nou Camp, describing the ordeal as like playing against a team from another planet.

Watch the goals, here:

"It was beautiful to watch because we played against a team from another planet," he explained.

"I was in goal playing for Roma but I appreciated what I saw from Barcelona.

"They were ridiculously good. As hard as it is to lose 6-1 it was beautiful to watch."

You can kind of see where he’s coming from, but all the same Roma fans won’t appreciate it.

Arsenal plaudits

In other Gunners news, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil drew the plaudits during Arsenal’s victory over Dinamo Zagreb last night, with the pair both getting on the scoresheet.

Fans hailed the dynamic duo on Twitter, with Sanchez scoring two of the three goals registered and Ozil notching the other one.

Here's a few of our Twitter favs:

Wenger on 'tired' Sanchez

Bringing us nicely to a close, Arsene Wenger has made a fairly surprising claim regarding the aforementioned Sanchez, suggesting that the Chile international actually suffers from taking breaks as they make him tired.

Arsenal v Southampton - Premier League

Strange as it may seem when looking at it logically, Wenger hinted that Sanchez is actually better when allowed to play constantly.

Whatever the Frenchman’s methods of keeping the forward firing on all cylinders, they appear to be working.
