Michael Owen has caused a bit of stir this evening, ahead of Manchester United’s Champions League clash against PSV Eindhoven, after claiming that Daley Blind reminds him of Liverpool great Jamie Carragher.
Speaking on BT Sport, Owen compared Blind to Carragher because of his versatility. The United ace is capable of playing in multiple positions, including centre-back, left-back and defensive midfield.
However, it’s fair to say that football fans on Twitter - including supporters of both Manchester United and Liverpool - disagreed with Owen’s belief that the Dutchman compares to Carragher. (Scroll down this page to see some of the best Twitter reaction).

Fans react to Owen's comment
Rio wouldn't like to play with Blind
Paul Scholes described Blind as a player who produces “seven out of 10” performances on a consistent basis, although Rio Ferdinand admitted he wouldn’t have enjoyed playing alongside the 25-year-old due to the fact he isn’t a natural centre-back.

BT Sport host Gary Lineker asked whether Blind is a “jack of all trades but master of none” - and while that’s perhaps a little on the harsh side, it’s not a million miles away from the truth.
Blind is a decent squad player for Manchester United but whether he possesses the quality to establish himself as a first-team regular - either in central defence, at left-back or in midfield - is doubtful.
