With regard to any wrestler working for WWE, an injury is never welcomed but a return certainly is and this is no exception for NXT star Sami Zayn.
As revealed during this week's episode of NXT, Zayn is set to make his long-awaited in-ring return during the promotion's UK tour, which takes place next month.
What Culture has revealed that the Canadian was forced to take time off from his in-ring duties following a recurring shoulder injury which he eventually gave into following a match with John Cena in May episode of Monday Night Raw.

Zayn had only recently made his main-roster debut prior to the injury, and will surely be welcomed with open arms by the WWE Universe upon his return.
When exactly he will make this comeback, however, has not been specifically set in stone and given the extent of his injury, should not be. During his lengthy lay-off, Zayn has been clear about just how serious the injury is and, in turn, how long the recovery period would be as a result.

As Wrestle Zone reported in June of this year for instance, Zayn expressed his desire to seek revenge on long-term rival Kevin Owens but added that this would not happen during 2015 as he would be out of action for the remainder of the year.
In addition, What Culture also reported just over two weeks ago that Zayn had not actually stepped back into a ring at the WWE performance Centre in order to train for a match.
With this having been so recently, it seems unlikely that WWE will rush into anything which could well prove detrimental to the NXT star's health for the future, especially given their current length list of injured wrestlers.
As well as this, those hoping for a full main-roster return for Zayn before the end of this year could well be disappointed.
This is because, although he sustained the injury during a segment with WWE, the fact they have scheduled him as appearing on the upcoming NXT tour implies they will be working him back into the professional scene with this branch of the company.
Although this may well make sense both injury and schedule-wise, it is a shame that the WWE Universe will have to wait even longer in order to see the feud between Zayn and Kevin Owens continue.
For now, however, WWE must be careful not to rush into anything with Zayn given his huge potential and incredible in-ring ability as risking an early return, could well mean yet another injury in the long term.
