Gary Neville: David Silva is the best player in the Premier League

Published 5 Comments

Given Gary Neville’s obvious affiliation to Manchester United, it wouldn’t have been preposterous for him to name one of Louis van Gaal’s stars as the best Premier League player. However, when asked at a charity event last night he was posed the question by Guillem Balague. His answer? David Silva of Manchester City. Not ridiculous in the slightest, but we can’t help but feel Sergio Aguero might well have something to say. Meanwhile, alarming reports this morning have claimed that United’s younger players are now frightened to express themselves due to Van Gaal’s style of management on the training ground. The Daily Mail’s Neil Ashton cites a blame culture that has been born at Carrington, with Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian and Anthony Martial all apparently affected.
