WWE: Who would be the best choice to win the 2016 Royal Rumble?

One of the biggest questions fans are asking is which star will main event WrestleMania 32 where the WWE World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line.

To get to the main event, one lucky superstar will need to outlast 29 others on January 24 at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, one of the most exciting nights on the WWE calendar.

Usually, there are a handful of clear-cut favourites who stand a chance of going all the way, but with so many injuries and a number of plans changing constantly it’s not crystal clear as to which superstar will main event WrestleMania 32. There are ways to salvage a great main event in Dallas, and I think three superstars stand a good chance of winning the Rumble in January.

DEAN AMBROSE

I think Dean Ambrose could be the surprising winner of the Royal Rumble in January if the WWE want to throw off the WWE Universe.

It would seem like a big surprise as Ambrose hasn’t exactly made a huge impact as a singles superstar despite a great feud with Seth Rollins in the past. If Ambrose is to win it will obviously be set up so the likes of Roman Reigns – and even Seth Rollins if he makes a speedy return – are involved.

For too long fans have wanted the trio to face off in the main event of WrestleMania and this would be a fantastic way to have Ambrose elevated into the main event picture in the most effective way possible.

JOHN CENA

The WWE needs John Cena and that seems to be the case right now more than ever considering how many injuries there are to some big names.

Cena is someone who will always be involved in the title picture because he’s simply too important to not be involved, he’s a solid worker who doesn’t get enough credit for all of the work he has put in for the past decade. WrestleMania 32 is set to be a record-breaking, historic occasion and Cena deserves to have some success there.

Winning the Rumble will be another accomplishment to add for Cena and if he does get to the WrestleMania main event in front of over 100,000 fans; you can’t think of a better occasion for one of the most polarising figures in WWE history to win his 16th World Championship.

Although it’s clear a lot of fans won’t be happy if Cena goes on to win the Rumble.

BROCK LESNAR

I believe Brock Lesnar should be in serious contention of winning the Royal Rumble in 2016 as he too could be another surprise addition which would make the WrestleMania 32 main event a must-watch.

He’s a star attraction so all eyes will be on him and a Royal Rumble return would definitely see the fans go wild. You can already imagine how the crowd would react if he entered from nowhere and caused chaos the moment he gets into the react and books his ticket to WrestleMania.

By that time, it’s expected that Roman Reigns will be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion so if Lesnar does win the Rumble, we could be heading to a WrestleMania 31 rematch.
