Chelsea round-up: Blues will swoop for Thomas Muller if Costa leaves next summer

Chelsea fans, good day and welcome.

We may be in the midst of winter, but the gravy train never stops when it comes to the latest news and information in the world of football.

We’ve collated the best topics on offer today for you to peruse and debate. Watch the video above or read on below for more.

Muller interest genuine?

We have to hand it to the transfer rumour-mill; it never ceases to amaze with its frequent and, quite often, peculiar links.

The latest? Chelsea are eyeing a move for Thomas Muller next summer as Diego Costa’s Stamford Bridge future remains uncertain.

We’ll be the first to say we’re not 100% buying it, but the Daily Mirror today claim that if Costa is to take his leave of west London at the end of the season, Muller will be the Blues' first port of call.

He’s a great option, don’t get us wrong, but that’s the thing - he’s a great option for Bayern Munich.

Ivanovic's advice to Costa

Elsewhere, sticking with Costa, Branislav Ivanovic has urged the Spain international to think about his teammates.

Costa was dropped against Spurs and threw a mini-tantrum near the end of the game. Vice-captain Ivanovic said he expects him to come back stronger.

Falcao set to stay

And, to finish, Chelsea are said to be growing increasingly concerned that they won’t be able to shift flop striker Radamel Falcao in the January transfer window - a failure that would ensure they have to pay his hefty wages until June.

The Colombia international, who takes home £135,000-a-week with the Blues, has performed poorly in west London thus far and it’s said Chelsea want to end their loan agreement with AS Monaco.

Unsurprisingly Monaco don’t want to welcome Falcao back at the current time. It means that unless Jose Mourinho and company can find a new suitor prepared to take him on loan he isn’t going anywhere fast.
