The League of Nations could be the next big thing in WWE

WWE doesn't hold a great record with stables over the past few years after 3MB disbanded, The Shield eventually split and The Wyatt's welcomed a new member.

But it seems their newest idea for a multicultural group could be one of their best yet. The group was officially unveiled during Sheamus' match with Roman Reigns this week on Raw.

It is made up of Wade Barrett/King Barrett who is British, Rusev who is Bulgarian, Alberto Del Rio who is flying the flag for Mexico and the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus, who is of Irish descent.

THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS

Not only does the group already consist of the United States and World Champions, but it was also made apparent on Monday night that they have the full backing of the WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day, as well as The Authority.

King Barrett hasn't been used correctly since he was crowned King of the Ring 2015. Being on a team that was defeated by Stephen Amell was one of his low points, whilst an off and on feud with Neville has progressed into nothing.

Rusev has the same kind of luck, after a year of being unpinned in WWE, The Bulgarian Brute was defeated by John Cena and has since been made a part of a humiliating storyline concerning Summer Rae and Lana.

Whilst Del Rio has only just came back to the WWE, having won the US title on his return, and Sheamus currently holds the biggest title in the business, the company still seem confused as to how to book these two, which is why a new stable is a fantastic idea.

WHO WILL CHALLENGE THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS?

It seems that this group has the most power in WWE at the moment, and with Roman Reigns concerned with winning back his World Title, will he be the one to spearhead a team who can challenge them?

The most ironic fact about this new group is that fifteen months ago, they would have been great rivals for The Shield, and whilst rumors of Seth Rollins returning as a face are rife, his return is still a long way off.

The Dudley's are busy with The Wyatt's and The Lucha Dragons are currently embroiled in a feud with The New Day over the tag titles, which means that WWE will need to put together another cohesive unit if they want a fair challenge.

One thing is for sure, WWE has created something special by putting these four superstars together and if they can accomplish half the things The Shield managed, then they will be considered highly successful.
