On a night to forget for Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez, as he played an ineligible player during his side's Copa del Rey Round of 32 clash against Cadiz, the former Liverpool coach had to endure chants about Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.
This has been revealed by Ed Malyon of the Mirror, who tweeted that the Cadiz faithful began chanting 'Benitez, take off De Gea' during last night's contest.
The Real Madrid boss selected Denis Cheryshev despite the fact the player picked up three yellow cards in the competition while on loan at Villarreal last season.

In fact, the Russian international opened the scoring after just three minutes but was replaced moments after half-time by Benitez after word got out that he was ineligible for the encounter.
Unsurprisingly, then, despite watching their side slump to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Spanish giants, the home faithful enjoyed the occasion as they were quickly made aware that there would be a realistic chance of them being reinstated into the competition.
De Gea chant
Without a doubt, their best chant of the night involved Manchester United's No.1 'keeper. After a well drawn out transfer saga, Benitez and Co. failed to secure the services of the Spain international in the summer transfer window.
That was duly noted by the Cadiz faithful, who opted to troll Liverpool's former manager...
It's probably not over
Of course, the speculation involving De Gea and Real Madrid is on hold for now, but we're all expecting the La Liga giants to make another move for the goalkeeper in the not too distant future.
Ultimately, De Gea is going from strength-to-strength in Manchester and is already recognised as one of the leading shot-stoppers in world football. United may have to continue their off-field battle with Real Madrid over the coming years.
