There is online speculation today that current Ring of Honor Champion Jay Lethal could be heading to NXT when his current contract expires, and he could be joined by Maria Kanellis and Mike Bennett.

NEW DIMENSION TO NXT?

It is incredibly obvious that WWE are struggling right now with their current talent pool and are looking down to NXT to see who is ready to make the jump to the main roster.

When the likes of Finn Balor, Baron Corbin and Samoa Joe are finally promoted in the coming months, NXT will seem bare unless WWE bring in some new contenders.

Jay Lethal and Mike Bennett are two wrestlers who would fit the agenda. Lethal is currently in his first reign as ROH World Champion following a record setting reign as their television champion back in 2014.

The former TNA superstar could return to link up with his former friend Samoa Joe, who he joined up with in TNA and helped work on his character and name. Much like the Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens story line, this could be a good personal feud for NXT to experiment with if they manage to sign the exciting talent.

SECOND TIME LUCKY FOR MARIA

Mike Bennett has been at ROH since 2008, but he really made his impact when he was joined with his real life wife Maria.

The former WWE Diva left the company back in 2011 when the women of WWE were in a very different place.

Maria was never used correctly as a female wrestler and was never allowed to fully display her potential, with WWE opting to use her as a backstage interviewer or in matches that were not completely about her wrestling ability.

Since then she has become the first lady of ROH and proved that there is more to her and her character than WWE fully explored.

If WWE brought her back, she and Mike could be a paring that would rival Carmella and Colin Cassidy and it could present some interesting mixed tag team matches.

She could also be used more effectively as a wrestler on the NXT brand since her improvement whilst in ROH has been evident.

WWE need new recruits to bridge NXT next year when they lose more of their top superstars, these three talents could be the answer to this and could be fantastic acquisitions for the NXT brand.
