From the outside looking in Brendan Rodgers enjoyed a fairly amicable relationship with most of his Liverpool players during his Anfield tenure, but his reign was not without incident. One of the biggest, that Richard Keys now claims to have knowledge on, involved Rodgers and Daniel Sturridge in the immediate aftermath of Luis Suarez’s exit. Keys claims Rodgers offered Sturridge the coveted number 9 shirt and the chance to become the talisman moving forward. Sturridge is said to have turned it down because he didn’t want the pressure. Rodgers was less than happy. In other news, Lucas Leiva believes Liverpool are taking good shape under Jurgen Klopp. The Brazilian celebrated the fact that people are returning from injury, and backed his side to win more games than they lose this term.
