Manchester United fans, hello and welcome.

It’s time to shake off the rust from the weekend and get straight back into the groove, so we won’t waste time with pointlessly long introductions.

Watch the video above for the latest headlines or read on below for some added gossip. In any case, enjoy.

Guardiola prepared to wait?

There are few men more qualified to become the next Manchester United manager than Pep Guardiola, which is probably why he finds his name so often linked with the job.

Those looking to see some return in the affections are sure to be pleased; The Sun are claiming he wants the role in the near future.

In fact, the publication say he will walk away from his Bayern Munich job at the end of this season and then wait for United to let Van Gaal go if they keep the Dutchman for next year.

He could apparently take another year-long sabbatical, but he’s also wanted by Man City.

Van Gaal criticises Schweinsteiger

Meanwhile, Bild are running a story focusing on Van Gaal criticising the form of Bastian Schweinsteiger.

They’re about the only outlet carrying the quotes, but apparently LVG said in his post-match press conference this weekend that he expected more from the German and would be speaking to him as a result.

Schweini on the lack of goals

Elsewhere, Schweinsteiger himself has had his say on why United aren’t necessarily fulfilling their star-studded potential.

The United midfielder has suggested that the Red Devils’ forwards might be lacking the ‘killer instinct’ possessed by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Thomas Muller.

Goals have certainly been a problem for Van Gaal’s side this term, but Schweinsteiger insisted he and his teammates weren’t scared in front of goal.
