At 3 it’s Pep Guardiola. Not one for this season, but he could leave Bayern in 2016. He’s certainly got the credentials and would be worth the wait until next summer. There isn’t a club around who wouldn’t take him. In at 2 is Diego Simeone of Atletico Madrid. Once again, his is an appointment best saved for next summer, but you get the feeling he’s waiting for a call from a global superpower. If you want bite, he’s the man to offer it. And number one, no surprises, Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian is still without a job after being sacked by Real Madrid, but has one of the best reputations around. He’s already been forced out of Stamford Bridge once, so it will need some negotiation, but it’s certainly viable, and he could start sooner rather than later.
