Given the optimism spreading around camp Cleveland last week fans of the Cavs might have been disappointed to see Kyrie Irving not able to make his long-awaited return at the weekend. Never fear though, the 23-year-old is still scheduled to make his comeback imminently - Sunday’s meeting against Philadelphia is the supposed target. Irving could feature against Oklahoma on Thursday, but that might be asking a bit much. It looks like tomorrow’s clash against the Celtics is altogether out of the question. Meanwhile in the NFL, the New England Patriots clinched a playoff berth and moved back to the summit of the AFC after a comfortable 27-6 win over the Houston Texans. Rob Gronkowski, who only two weeks ago suffered what was assumed to be a serious injury, was in fine form, with the Pats’ defensive line also impressing.
